Lengthy letters accusing Hopkins and the college of taking Maroney's side over Meads due to campus popularity. Wright accuses Hopkins of the need for a speedy jailing being for the purpose of his departure from campus prior to commencement in addition to a host of other allegations. Of particular note is the idea that Meads was a scapegoat for the news and his jailing was a weapon for Dartmouth, especially with the statement sent to Associated Press by Hopkins. The response letter indicates a level of indignation and explains that there was very equal treatment and such slander is blatantly untrue particularly given the special treatment afforded to Meads following his shooting of Arnold in 1916.
