Oral history interview with Forrester "Woody" Lee '68

Title
Oral history interview with Forrester "Woody" Lee '68
Description
Forrester Lee, known as Woody, was the first president of the Afro-American Society. He arrived in Hanover in 1964 with twelve or thirteen other Black students and believed he was among the first Black students at Dartmouth, an error of 136 years. He had no Black faculty member to ask and no alumni history to consult, and believed only two Black upperclassmen were on campus. A chemistry major, he worked as a preceptor in the organic chemistry laboratory, the course that screened out prospective medical students.
