About
Rachel Perez ’23 is a History major, concentrating in African and African-American Studies, minoring in Anthropology, with an interest in the lasting societal repercussions of imperialism and colonialism in law and culture. During her time as a Historical Accountability Student Research Fellow, she explored the complex issues that resulted in Dartmouth’s multiple undergraduate housing shortages, with a focus on the pressures that these housing crises have on Dartmouth’s low-income, first-generation and/or international students. Rachel hopes to use the skills and information she learned as a fellow and apply it to her Senior Thesis, which will further explore the housing shortages at Dartmouth and how the housing market in Hanover has mixed effects in the Micropolitan housing market of the greater Upper Valley.
